Pint-sized drumming prodigy, Nandi Bushell is back with a brand new drum cover, this time channelling the late, great Keith Moon for a slamming rendition of The Who’s “My Generation.”
As a testament to Moon’s unparalleled talent behind the kit, Bushell described the track as “one of the most difficult covers I have ever made,” on social media. Considering her previous efforts include everything from Led Zeppelin to Slipknot, it’s certainly a big call!
Watch Bushell’s knockout take on the 1965 classic rock staple, dedicated to “Mooney,” below.
Nandi Bushell | “My Generation” [The Who - Drum Cover]
"A description on YouTube reads: “WARNING: Extreme Awesomeness and Flashing Lights! Bruh! Keith Moon!!! Unreal! This one is for you Mooney! One of the most difficult covers I have ever made. I think this song really suits my style. Fast, Fun and Rocking with a Punk edge."
The new video is the latest addition to a long line of classic covers by Bushell. Most recently, the 10-year-old musician paid homage to Jimmy Page on his birthday by recreating Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” playing ALL the instruments herself through a loop pedal (see here).
And, throughout 2020, Nandi kept the internet entertained when she challenged Dave Grohl to an “epic drum battle” – which he accepted, and ultimately conceded, telling The Late Show With Stephen Colbert: “She’s beating the crap out of her drum set, and when she does drum rolls, she screams. I was like, oh my God, this kid is a force of nature,” (watch here).
