The Cure have smashed through some serious career goals this past year! They were in Australia just last month to headline Vivid Festival, performing their Disintegration album over five sold-out nights at Sydney Opera House and have followed it up by closing Glastonbury Festival with a magnificent headline set this week.

Now, the momentum continues with the upcoming cinematic release of their new film, Anniversary 1978-2018 Live in Hyde Park London. Watch the performance of “Lullaby” below:

The Cure celebrated their 40th anniversary last year with an epic, career-spanning set at London’s Hyde Park. The show was captured in 4K by the band’s longtime collaborator, Tim Pope who has shot two dozen film clips with the band over the past 37 years, including the original “Lullaby” film clip.

Pope says on the film: “Working alongside Robert for these 37 years of the band’s 40-year history – and also having previously filmed the band for the 35mm ‘In Orange’ 1986 concert film – I wanted cinema-goers to feel like they were in the thick of the action, in the heart of the music. Our film really captures the true power and passion of The Cure’s music for a global audience.”

“This really was the perfect way to celebrate 40 years of the band. It was a fabulous day none of us will ever forget” – Robert Smith.

Anniversary 1978-2018 Live in Hyde Park London features a selection of almost thirty songs from their catalogue spanning four decades. The film will be screened in cinemas globally from the 11th of July. Tickets are available here.
