"Wuthering Heights" was released on January 5, 1978, and topped the Aussie charts at #1 for 3 weeks.

Kate Bush became the first female artist to score a UK #1 with a self-written song. It later emerged that the then 19 year old artist had defied her record label by insisting that "Wuthering Heights" be the debut single, and not take their advice and release "James and the Cold Gun" first. This attitude only expanded her legendary status as a strong-willed, compelling and mysterious beauty.

Hard to believe that the song is now 40 years old and that Kate Bush will be 60 later this year. Funnily enough, she shares a birthday with author Emily Bronte who wrote Wuthering Heights - the novel on which the song is based.

There are two official music video's for the song, here's Version 1 followed by the red dress version...
