A limited-edition, gold-vinyl pressing of David Bowie's classic 1975 album, Young Americans is being released on September 18th to celebrate the record's 45th anniversary.

Young Americans was Bowie’s ninth studio album and marked a departure from the glam rock style he had become synonymous with. By incorporating elements of soul and R&B into the eight-track collection – recorded in Philadelphia and New York with producer Tony Visconti and a variety of musicians, including guitarist Carlos Alomar – Bowie developed a sound he would later describe as “plastic soul.” The album produced two hit singles, the title track and the John Lennon co-write, “Fame” which gave Bowie his first US #1 in September of 1975.
