The 2021 Grammy Award Nominations Are In…

The 2021 Grammy Award nominees have been unveiled and there are plenty of nods to pioneering legends in the various categories – here’s a rundown of those worth special mention.

Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package category saw nominations go out to Paul McCartney’s Flaming Pie (Collectors Edition), Depeche Mode’s Mode, Wilco’s Ode To Joy, and the Grateful Dead’s extensive Giants Stadium 1987, 1989, 1991 collection which you can check out below.

Best Music Film category included nominations for ZZ Top’s That Little Ol’ Band, as well as Linda Ronstadt’s The Sound of My Voice biopic.

Posthumous nods went to John Prine, who was nominated for both Best American Roots Performance and Best American Roots Song; and Leonard Cohen’s Thanks for the Dance which is up for an award in the Best Folk Album category.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers bassist, Flea has earned himself a nomination in the Best Spoken Word category for the audio release of his 2019 memoir, Acid for the Children.

And last, but most certainly not least, the effervescent David Byrne has earned a very deserved nomination in the Best Musical Theatre Album category for the Broadway recording of his global smash musical, American Utopia on Broadway which you can listen to below.
