By some sort of supernatural phenomenon, Kate Bush has, this week, scored her first-ever Number One on a Billboard albums chart with her 1985 LP ‘Hounds Of Love’, currently sites at the top of the Top Alternative Albums on (June 11).
Propelled by the force of Netflix’s Stranger Things 4, Running Up That Hill has been running up the charts since the show premiered at the end of May.
Last week, Billboard reported that the 37-year-old alt-pop hit was at Number Eight on the Hot 100 Singles chart, which was another first for the music icon who had never before landed a US Top 10 single.
Over in the UK, she has been sitting at Number Two on the UK Singles Chart, giving pop star Harry Styles a decent run for Number One. In anticipation of that possible moment, we decide to go back and watch fellow Brits, Placebo deliver an epic cover of ‘Running Up That Hill’ live at the UK’s Reading Festival in 2006.
Frontman, Brian Molko’s emotionally fragile vocal is a perfect match for the song that endlessly builds with the tension of anticipation. Enjoy below!

In response to Stranger Things sending her Hounds of Love hit racing back up the charts, decades on from its original release, Kate Bush recently made a rare public statement via her official website, saying, "You might’ve heard that the first part of the fantastic, gripping new series of Stranger Things has recently been released on Netflix. It features the song, Running Up That Hill which is being given a whole new lease of life by the young fans who love the show - I love it too!”
"Because of this, Running Up That Hill is charting around the world and has entered the UK chart at No. 8. It’s all really exciting! Thanks very much to everyone who has supported the song."
Bush concluded with, "I wait with bated breath for the rest of the series in July."
