Faith No More have thrown their support behind Australia’s ongoing bush fire crisis, announcing an additional show to their upcoming UK tour at Manchester’s O2 Apollo on June 9, from which they will be donating all proceeds to Australian bush fire relief charities.

Keyboardist and guitarist Roddy Bottum explains: “Australia is a country that we connected with early on in our career. We spent time not only with the people in their cities but also at its beaches and driving through its vast terrains.”

Bassist Billy Gould adds: “Reading the news about what’s been happening in Australia has been heartbreaking. It’s hard to even comprehend the scale of damage. Hopefully, this small contribution on our part can make a difference somewhere.”

The two charities selected by the band are WIRES, whose mission is to rehabilitate injured and displaced Australian wildlife; and the CFS Foundation, who provide financial assistance and care to CFS volunteer firefighters and their families.

The Manchester show is an addition to a number of Faith No More tour dates set for the UK and Europe in June this year, breaking a five-year hiatus for the band. While there has so far been no word yet as to if, or when they will be bringing the tour to Australia, we’re certainly feeling the love!
