Prince is unarguably one of the greatest live performers and songwriters of a generation.

Whilst collating this list of clips which is a mere glimpse at some of his most incredible performances, one thing was apparent… he was ALWAYS unbelievable and gave nothing less than 100% at every single show.

Here's an absolutely inspired performance, despite the torrential rain, live at the Superbowl Halftime show in 2007.

Prince joins Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and others to perform "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the 2004 Hall of Fame Inductions as a tribute to George Harrison. The last half of this clip is basically just Prince being incredible. Jaws on the floor, guaranteed.

Live at the American Music Awards in 1985.

Prince covering Creep by Radiohead at Coachella in 2008. When it seemed impossible that this song could be any more emotional, Prince delivers a truly epic version.

It’s a bit dark, sorry.

Bringing the funk in a big way in this bass jam

It’s actually impossible to stop at just five clips, so here’s ones more at the Billboard Music Awards in 2013 just for good measure and some over-indulgence.

Purple Rain Deluxe and Expanded Edition features previously unreleased songs. Get it here.
