The B-52's embraced kitsch and irony on a level none had ever before, or perhaps ever will. Vocalists Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, and Cindy Wilson, along with guitarist Ricky Wilson and drummer Keith Strickland crafted catchy new wave hits, abundant in surrealist lyrics and bizarre beats, almost impossible not to dance to, and even more impossible to forget.

One of the more emotional entries in B-52's quirky canon is Give Me Back My Man, the second single from their 1980 album, Wild Planet. The song's driving beat and rhythm, as unique and ahead of their time as the fantastic flair of Ricky Wilson’s guitar playing, add an out-of-this-world atmosphere to the captivating lead vocal of Cindy Wilson – which manages to make the gifts of “fish” and “candy” sound like the most romantic gesture imaginable.

At the time of its release, the B-52’s delivered a wonderfully hypnotizing performance of Give Me Back My Man on Dutch TV program TopPop. Watch below!
