This week marks the 40th anniversary of Kraftwerk's ground-breaking electronic masterpiece Computer World was released and, while the band are not usually ones to celebrate anniversaries, yesterday a one-sided, yellow vinyl 7" single featuring the "Heimcomputer'"re-edit announced.
And rightfully so. Kraftwerk created the soundtrack for the digital age of the 21st century. Their compositions, using innovative techniques, electronic sounds and synthetic voices, combined with computerised rhythms, had a major musical influence on Electro, Hip Hop, Techno and Synth-Pop.
This special 2021 edit of Heimcomputer is being released to coincide with the 40th anniversary of their ground-breaking electronic masterpiece Computer World, which sounds as fresh and futuristic today as it did 40 years ago.

Previewing the reissue, Parlophone is releasing a 2-track digital single of both versions “Heimcomputer (2021 Single Edit)” alongside the English language version “Home Computer (2021 Single Edit).”
