Metallica has been sharing a healthy boost in fandom of late thanks to their inclusion in a particularly pivotal scene in the Stranger Things 4 season finale in which Eddie Munson, played by actor Joseph Quinn saves his friends by slaying the most metal song ever, aka Metallica’s Master of Puppets.
The band closed their epic Lollapalooza 2022 set with a slamming rendition of the iconic 1986 metal anthem. Prior to hitting the stage, they warmed up by jamming through the track with none other than Quinn

“I’m a big fan of [Stranger Things]. Have been since Season One,” Metallica frontman, James Hetfield told Quinn. “My kids and I, it’s a bonding experience for us.”
Quinn thanked the band for allowing the show to license Master of Puppets, prompting a quick response from Hetfield who thanked him for doing the 1986 metal classic justice.
“It’s all I was listening to for two years,” Quinn replied. “I feel very connected to you guys.”
