New Order and Pet Shop Boys have just announced a massive 2020 co-headlining tour of North America. Two seminal synth-pop acts will join forces for the ‘Unity’ tour, kicking off on September 5th in Toronto, and wrapping at the famed Hollywood Bowl in LA on October 2nd

While the Unity Tour marks the first time these two massively influential … and defining acts of the U.K. post-punk and new wave scene … bands have ever toured together, they do have some shared history. In 1989, when New Order’s Bernard Sumner formed the duo Electronic with ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, their debut single, “Getting Away With It”, featured Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant. Tennant and his Pet Shop Boys bandmate, Chris Lowe also co-wrote “The Patience Of A Saint” with Electronic for their 1991 self-titled debut.

The tour will follow on from New Order’s massive upcoming Aussie dates in March – their first visit since 2016 – that are now just weeks away! More info here

New Order and Pet Shop Boys have also announced a massive one-off show in their shared home country of England, bringing their glorious celebration of new wave synth-pop to London’s O2 Arena on October 10th. You can find all the tour dates at neworder.com.
