In a recent ILYOS interview with Stone Temple Pilots' Robert DeLeo, he spoke about how some of the bonus material on the 25th Anniversary edition of Core is making its appearance for the first time and was literally dragged out of his garage…
“I actually had a lot of that stuff saved in my garage – tubs and tubs of music. There were a couple of containers of cassettes dating back to when I got my first cassette player when I was 10, so I did a lot of sitting down and listening and discovered things I didn’t even know I had. I also had reel to reel from when we were doing pre-production for Core – I save everything! I forgot about the extra parts that were in there in some of the songs we wrote, because as time went by we cut the fat, as it were. On the reel to reel demos from the pre-production of Core I realised we pretty much had it together with the arrangements, but Brendan O’Brien came in and enhanced what we had and made it come to life.”
