Brace yourself. If you caught Queen fever (along with the rest of the world) after the release of box office smash hit biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody then you’re about to have a very happy Monday! The band have just announced they will be bringing their ‘Rhapsody Tour’ to Australia in February 2020, featuring original members Brian May and Roger Taylor, together again with singer Adam Lambert for six massive stadium shows.

"This is a great opportunity. Our last tour featured our most ambitious production ever and got us our best notices ever," May said [via The Sydney Morning Herald]. "So we decided to rip it apart and get even more ambitious."

The release of Bohemian Rhapsody sparked a renewed interest in Queen's legendary music and the band have been ruling the charts ever since. After taking nearly $55 million at the Australian box office alone, it has been crowned the highest-grossing music biopic of all time. With three albums inside the ARIA top 10 this week, almost 50 years after they first formed, ‘The Rhapsody Tour’ could quite possibly the band’s biggest Australian tour yet.

Queen have previously toured Australia with Adam Lambert stepping in for the late, great Freddie Mercury in 2018 and 2014. The 37-year-old singer first performed with the band in 2009 and has gone on to play almost 200 shows with them since.

Bohemian Rhapsody cleaned up at the Academy Awards earlier this year. Lead actor Rami Malek won the best actor Oscar for his portrayal of Mercury, while the film took out three more awards for best film editing, best sound editing and best sound mixing. It was also nominated for best picture.

The ‘Rhapsody Tour’ will kick off in Brisbane next February, before taking on Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Gold Coast. Tickets will go on sale to the general public from 10:30 am on Monday, April 15, through Ticketek, but you'll want to get in fast - if the film's whirlwind success is anything to go by, this one's bound to sell out in no time.
