Animated electro legends, Gorillaz have delivered an extraordinary output of music, weighted heavily with innovative, high-profile collaborations over the past couple of years– and their upcoming LP Cracker Island, set to arrive in February next year is shaping up to be no exception!
First announced back in June via a series of cryptic social media posts, the album’s track listing has now revealed we can expect an upcoming single featuring the omnipotent Queen of Rock herself, Stevie Nicks, 90s alt-anomaly Beck and many more.
Most recently, the LP has been previewed with a single New Gold, featuring Australia’s own psych-rock superstars Tame Impala. Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn – aka 2D – described the track as “kind of a mad song, to be honest with you” during a recent live debut of the track in the UK. Listen below!

The band’s previous LP, 2020’s eerily summative Strange Timez: Song Machine album, featured collaborations from Elton John, Joy Division’s Peter Hook, the Cure frontman Robert Smith on the title track and many more, each celebrating the signature style of the featured artist while still sounding distinctly like.. the Gorillaz.
With this in mind, we CAN’T WAIT to get our ears on the Cracker Island single Oil featuring swzdx Stevie Nicks – stay tuned!
Cracker Island is due out early next year and available to pre-order now. The 12” Vinyl Box, includes an opaque peach pink 12” Vinyl, a CD housed in a matt varnish sleeve, Cracker Island 7” Vinyl single with Etched Art on the B-side and alternative single art, a copy of The Last Cult notebook, a collection of art prints, a poster, stickers and more.
