Late 80s / early 90s Brit rockers Suede have just released a fascinating new music video for their song "Life Is Golden".
Filmed on location in Pripyat, Ukraine - a city abandoned since 1986, the day after the Chernobyl disaster, and still considered too dangerous to occupy due to toxic radiation levels. Previously, the city was home to 45 schools, 10 gyms, 1 hospital and 50,000 inhabitants.
The video was shot using the latest Drone technology and shows moving scenes of a completely discarded town, most notably the ferris wheel, dodgem cars and swimming pool literally left to rot. Looks like the trees have started to make a come-back so hopefully that means radiation levels are dropping, however, it doesn't look like anyone will be moving back in a hurry.
Great tune too!
