Rock icon Tina Turner has taken the lead in this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame fan vote.

With only 14 days to go until the Rock Hall public vote closes, the legendary singer has pulled ahead of late Afrobeat musician Fela Kuti, who has been leading the vote since it opened in February.

Turner is currently in the top spot with around 510,000 votes and Fela Kuti in second place with 482,508. Other front runners include the Go-Go’s in third place with 372,223, Iron Maiden in fourth with 358,763, and Foo Fighters are in fifth with 344,442. The top five artists, as selected by the public, will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2021 inductees. Voting is open until May 7th and fans are eligible to vote online once per day via the Rock Hall website, here.

Last month, HBO released a documentary titled, Tina, chronicling the life and legacy of the legendary Tina Turner, whose incredible life tells one of the important stories of talent, strength, and perseverance against adversity in music history. You can watch the trailer below.
