Guns N’ Roses have kicked off their first show of the year with a massive 26 song set list that included an AC/DC cover and a couple of their own rarities.
Performing the Passeio Marítimo de Algés in Oeiras in Portugal, the hard rock icons’ delivered a thunderous cover of AC/DC’s Walk All Over You from their classic 1979 album, Highway To Hell, which wasn’t one of the tracks Axl Rose sang during his brief stint with the Aussie Rock legends in 2016. The night also saw the band dig deep into their catalogue with a couple of ratites, including Reckless Life from their 1986 LP Live ?!*@ Like A Suicide, which they haven’t performed live since 1993 and a version of You’re Crazy from Appetite For Destruction that they haven’t aired since 1991. Last Year, AC/DC released their first album in six years titled, Power Up. The LP reunited the lineup of Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Phil Rudd and Cliff Williams, with the addition of Steve Young stepping in for his uncle, Malcolm Young who passed away in 2017 but is still largely present on the record.
“Stevie is playing Mal’s parts,” Angus said in an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock at the time. “But the songs, all of the songs on there are songs that Malcolm and myself had."
