Last week, alt-rock heavyweights Smashing Pumpkins and Jane’s Addiction announced plans for a 32-date North American tour together later this year. Following the announcement, members from both bands joined forces for a very special performance of Jane’s Addiction’s 1988 hit, Jane Says on The Howard Stern Show.
During the appearance, the Pumpkins also delivered a stellar performance of their own track Today, while frontmen Billy Corgan and Perry Farrell shared numerous anecdotes from throughout their careers with the show’s host, Howard Stern.
For the joint Jane Says performance, Farrell and Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins were joined by the members of Smashing Pumpkins (sans James Iha) – perhaps a preview of what’s to come on their upcoming tour! Watch below.

Stern commented on how happy Corgan looked to be playing alongside Farrell after the performance, to which the Pumpkins frontman responded, “I love the song so much.” Watch him perform Pumpkins' own 1993 smash, Today below.

During their interview with Stern, Corgan and Farrell both shared personal stories about the late, great David Bowie. Most shockingly, Farrell admitted that he once lost his phone in a taxi, only to have the cab driver harass Bowie with endless phone calls when he stumbled upon the icon’s number in Farrell’s address book. Watch him explain below.
