Legendary Beach Boys leader, Brian Wilson reflects on his incredible career and life, both the highs and lows, in a new official trailer for the upcoming documentary, Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road.
In the upcoming film, veteran Rolling Stone editor Jason Fine, who has interviewed Wilson numerous times before, takes the music star on a literal road trip down memory lane, stopping at locations that have shaped his highly influential, and often troubled, life along the way.
According to Deadline, more than 70 hours were shot with Wilson and Fine for the movie, which features a treasure of rarities, including previously unseen home movies, archival footage and photos, plus concert, studio and interview footage.
As per the film’s official description, Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road will also feature interviews with Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Linda Perry, Jim James, Taylor Hawkins and more.
“Brian just threw away the rule book. Just took you out of where you were and took you to another place,” says Elton John early in the trailer.
“There was no greater world created in rock n’ roll than the Beach Boys,” Bruce Springsteen declares. “The level of musicianship, I don’t think anybody’s touched it yet.” Watch below.

His honours include inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of the Beach Boys) and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a Kennedy Center Honor, two Grammy Awards and the Ivor Novello Award.
