As some of you will know, Debbie Harry had quite a varied career before she found fame fronting Blondie. Most famously, she sang with folk-rock group Wind In The Willows, who released an album in 1968, and she was also a Playboy Bunny – meaning she was a waitress ay Hugh Heffner’s Playboy Club. Later she waited tables at legendary New York rock club Max’s Kansas City, which was home away from home for the Warhol set.

Clearly she also did a bit of modelling, as she is – well, here her head is – on the cover of a 1971 Berkley Medallion paperback edition of The Franchise Affair, a much-loved 1948 mystery novel by British author Josephine Tey. The novel itself is readily available, but beware, the only copies we could find for sale of this particular edition online were going for around $900 USD!

Makes you wonder what other images of Debbie might be out there, in long-forgotten ad’s and catalogues. Drop us a note if know of any!
