As part of the label's 40th anniversary, Rhino Records has debuted “The Rhino Podcast," a bi-weekly series produced by PopCult and hosted by Dennis Scheyer and Rich Mahan. Each episode dives into classic artists and albums with music, interviews with musicians, and behind-the-scenes stories. The first episode (available now on all major podcast outlets) focuses on the Ramones and features an interview with engineer and producer Ed Stasium. Future episodes will focus on The Smiths, Gene Simmons, The Cars, The Monkees, and Montrose.
Hosts Dennis and Rich talk with engineer and producer Ed Stasium about the making of the Ramones’ landmark third album, ROCKET TO RUSSIA, and his contributions to the recent 40th Anniversary Edition of the punk classic. We also explore the set’s bonus material which includes a December 1977 concert recorded in Scotland that took place just a few days before Stasium recorded the Ramones’ classic live album, IT’S ALIVE.
