Johnny Marr Is Teaming Up With Hans Zimmer For James Bond ‘No Time to Die’ Score

The James Bond soundtrack one of those rare and coveted institutions that artists from all era’s and genres aspire to join the legacy of. As NME reports, it has just been announced that Smiths guitarists turned solo star, Johnny Marr will be teaming up with Hans Zimmer to compose the new score for the upcoming 007 film, No Time to Die. 

“Part of the legacy of the Bond films is iconic music, so I’m very happy to be bringing my guitar to No Time To Die,” Marr said.

No Time To Die will be the 25th (!) film in the series and will mark actor, Daniel Craig’s final performance in the James Bond role. Marr joins the project just one week after Zimmer’s involvement was announced. Zimmer has had an exceptionally illustrious career in film composition, but this will be his first Bond film.

Marr and Zimmer have collaborated on film scores in the past, including Christopher Nolan’s Inception (2010) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). Marr has also played live with Zimmer on multiple occasions.

No Time To Die is out in April 2020.
