Earlier this week, we reported that Guns N’ Roses had kicked off their first show of 2022 in Portugal with a 26 song set list that included a cover of AC/DC’s Walk All Over You, from their legendary 1979 album Highway To Hell. Read more, here. 

Now, the hard rock icons’ have paid homage to the Aussie rockers once more with a cover of one of their most well-known tracks, Back In Black, during their June 7 set in Sevilla, Spain.

The massive crowd only took a few seconds to recognize the opening riff of the title track from AC/DC’s classic 1980 LP of the same name. For the most part, GNR stayed true to the original, save for Slash’s show-stealing guitar solos, with Axl battling to get his voice above the roar of the audience singing along to much of the track. 

The surprise cover arrived early in the evening, as the seventh song win a 26-song set. Watch below!

Guns N' Roses | ‘Back In Black’ 

It should be a well-rehearsed track for GNR singer Axl Rose, who fronted AC/DC for several shows during their 2016 Rock or Bust world tour, filling in for lead singer Brian Johnson, who was dealing with career-threatening hearing problems at the time. Unsurprisingly, Back In Black was performed at every show. 

Back In Black was AC/DC’s first album to feature new vocalist Brian Johnson, after the untimely death of their previous lead singer, Bon Scott in February 1980. Following the commercial breakthrough they had with Highway To Hell only a little over year earlier, Back In Black was an unprecedented success, topping the British chart for two weeks and staying in the top 10 of the American chart for over five months. To this date, it remains one of the best selling albums of all time.
