George Michael is the subject of an upcoming global cinema event titled Freedom Uncut, set for release in cinemas around the world later this year.

The feature-length film will detail the late icon’s life, from the release of his chart-topping 1987 solo album Faith, to the making of his massive 1990 follow-up Listen Without Prejudice: Vol 1.

Michael passed away on Christmas Day in 2016. The film will arrive in June, honoring his what would have been his 59th birthday.  The film promises exclusive archival footage of Michael, plus footage of live performances and interviews with many of the artists he was inspired by.

Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing, added: We are proud to be bringing George Michael’s final work to the big screen in this global cinema event.

“As an artist whose music continues to resonate across generations, this event will be a fitting tribute to George’s life and career, giving fans the opportunity to celebrate communally in cinemas worldwide.”

George Michael Freedom Uncut is set to be released as a global cinema event on June 22nd. Tickets and cinema details will be available on April 27  – more details, here.
