Green Day’s excellent Insomniac album is turning 25! To celebrate, the band have released a very special limited-edition translucent orange vinyl reissue, which includes an additional bonus rarities LP stacked with eight rare or never previously released live tracks, including versions of “Geek Stink Breath” “Stuck with Me” and “Brain Stew.”

First released on October 10, 1995, Insomniac followed on from the band’s massive major-label debut album,1994’ Dookie, and peaked at Number Two on the Billboard 200 chart with the singles “Stuck With Me,” “Walking Contradiction” and “Geek Stink Breath.”
Announcing the brand new reissue, the band wrote: “It’s the Insomniac 25th anniversary!! So we wanted to do something special, so here is the biggest glimpse ever into the ‘Insomniac’ era tours from 1995 – 96. Never before seen footage from Europe ’95 tour and live concert in Prague shot on 16mm film in Europe 1996 with the fateful last shows on tour before returning home to go back into the studio for Nimrod album sessions. Enjoy! Time to celebrate Insomniac 25th and bust out the champagne and caviar.”

The remastered set includes the original cover art, created by artist Winston Smith, printed on prismatic silver foil. The bonus live tracks are all taken from the Prague stop on the Insomniac World Tour on March 26, 1996, and the flip of the live LP is an etched b-side.
