If you’ve been looking for that perfect Christmas present for the heavy metal fan who has everything, go no further because Iron Maiden Are Getting Their Own Funko Pop! Figures.
However, unlike Funko’s previous rock-themed releases that immortalize members of a particular band, this time they’ve shifted focus to Maiden’s mascot, Eddie. Four alternate versions of the loveable, zombie-like character that has decorated Iron Maiden’s albums, posters and t-shirts since their self-titled 1980 debut album, have been announced.
“Showcase your Iron Maiden pride by bringing home the band’s immortal mascot today,” reads the Funko website. The figures capture Eddie in forms that correlate with the iconic heavy-rockers first four LPs. “Pop! Iron Maiden Eddie, Pop! Killers Eddie, Pop! Number of the Beast Eddie, and Pop! Piece of Mind Eddie will add some heavy metal flavor to any collection.”
Funko also noted that this is “wave one” of the Eddie figures, suggesting that more collectible designs will be coming in the future. Though an official release date has not yet been revealed, all four versions are available for pre-order now, here.
As for the band themselves, Iron Maiden recently announced 33 concert dates in 2020. The global trek will see the revered metal band bring their massive 'Legacy of the Beast' tour to Australia, in February next year. Check out the dates and tour info here.
