LEGO have just announced a new Fender Stratocaster brick set, the first of a new music-themed series of releases aimed more towards their adult enthusiasts. The guitar set is based on a fan-submitted design by user TOMOELL for this year’s LEGO Ideas ‘Music To Our Ears’ contest.

LEGO Ideas Design Manager, Sam Johnson told Brick Fanatics: “Everyone has seen the Fender Stratocaster guitar, it’s super famous and we think it’s going to be exciting to bring this to life using LEGO bricks. Music is a relatively new place for LEGO to play in so we’re really excited to see how we can execute this.”

The Fender Stratocaster, often just called a “Strat” – designed by Leo Fender, Bill Carson, George Fullerton and Freddie Tavares – was first released in 1954 and remains one of the the most popular guitars among players to this present day, thanks to its double-cutaway and extended top "horn" shape for balance. Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix and Buddy Holly are just a handful of the many guitar heroes to have wielded the classic axe over the years.

The Fender Stratocaster brick set does not have an official release date just yet, but according to Brick Fanatics, “will be adapted by a LEGO designer and released” sometime in 2021.
