This week marks the 40th anniversary of the Ramones' third - and some reckon best - album, Rocket to Russia to be released on November 24. To commemorate the occasion, Sire has announced the release of a 40th Anniversary deluxe edition, following the same super schmick presentation of the 40th Anniversary editions of Ramones and Leave Home.
The Rocket To Russia 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition 3CD/1LP set contains two different mixes of the album: a remastered version of the original and a new 40th Anniversary Tracking Mix by original Rocket To Russia engineer/mixer Ed Stasium. The collection also includes two dozen rare and unreleased studio recordings relating to the album, plus a previously unissued recording of the band’s 1977 concert in Glasgow, Scotland.
The 2017 Anniversary Tracking Mix is also featured on the LP that accompanies the Deluxe Edition.
