Madonna’s UK live debut, on this day in 1984, was one to remember! 

A pop icon in the making, she was invited to appear on legendary UK TV music program, The Tube in 1984 to perform her hit single “Holiday.” With British audiences yet to catch her live in action, it would be Madonna’s debut performance in the UK.

Making this slice of music history almost too good to be true, the show was broadcast live from the infamous Hacienda Club in Manchester – a place that nurtured the evolution of late 70s post-punk into 80s New Wave and more or less gave birth to the acid house rave culture of the early 90s.
