Boy George first announced a forthcoming biopic back in 2019 but a recent social media post from the singer suggests it is fast becoming a reality!

In the video, the Culture Club frontman declares a global casting search to find the perfect actor to play him in the film – titled Karma Chameleon and even claims “there are rumours of Keanu Reeves popping in.” See below.

The film will tell the iconic singer’s life story, from his humble beginnings in an Irish working-class family, his meteoric rise to fame with Culture Club in the 1980s as one of the first openly queer celebrities, and all the highs, lows, heartbreak and excess that marked his path to stardom.

“Boy George and Culture Club have been an inspiration to so many people. Specifically, George’s unapologetic way of being true to himself. He has paved the way for people to live their truth as fearless individuals,” Jonathan Yunger from Millennium Media, told Deadline. “This is more relevant today than ever and we are so proud to have Sacha lead the charge on this musical journey.”

Karma Chameleon is written and will be directed by Sacha Gervasi (Hitchcock and Anvil: The Story of Anvil) and produced by Kevin King Templeton (Creed I & II). Filming is slated to begin later this year – we will keep you updated.
