Last year, Brandi Carlie shared the Grammy stage with Tanya Tucker for a stunning rendition of their collaboration “Bring My Flowers Now.”

This year, the Grammy-winner made her collection four, taking home the award for Best Country Song, before stepping up for a show-stopping solo performance in honour of the late John Prine. Carlile delivered a heartwarming acoustic cover of the final song Prine ever wrote, the very aptly-titled, “I Remember Everything.”  Watch below (stream here).

The 2021 Grammy Awards marked a special day for the legendary John Prine, who earned two posthumous awards for Best American Roots Performance and Best Americana Roots Song for “I Remember Everything” earlier in the ceremony.

Known for his raspy voice and unique songwriting style, the much-missed John Prine was considered a true folk-singer and leaves us with a catalogue of witty and sincere country-folk. “I Remember Everything” was Prine’s final recording, released in June by his family, following his death in April last year at age 73, due to complications of COVID-19. Check out some out favourite John Prine songs, performances and covers, here.
