Ringo Starr is known for marking his birthday each year with a charity event in Hollywood. But this year, like with almost everything, he’s had to find a way to do things a little differently. Instead, the Beatles drummer has marked his 80th birthday with a Big Birthday Special Livestream featuring, exclusive performances with some of his famous friends.

Starr lead proceedings seated behind his legendary drum kit and was joined by a series of guests, including Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh, Sheryl Crow and Elvis Costello – to perform a selection of Beatles classics – all in the name of charity.

You can watch the full hour of Peace and Love, jam-packed with magic moments – a socially distanced “Helter Skelter” with Paul McCartney, “Come Together” with Sheila E., “All You Need is Love” with Sheryl Crow and more – below.

Ringo is the first Beatle to blow out 80 candles. Money raised from his Livestream party was divided between four charities – Black Lives Matter, the David Lynch Foundation, MusiCares and WaterAid.

Starr has hosted the Peace and Love birthday celebration event for the past 12 years in his adopted Hollywood hometown. Last year, he was joined by David Lynch, Peter Jackson, Nils Lofgren, Sheila E., and more.
