The Flaming Lips have just unveiled a lush new kaleidoscopic music video capturing their performance of “What Is the Light?” with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. The song will appear on the band’s upcoming live album, The Soft Bulletin Recorded Live at Red Rocks, out November 29th.

The live recording comes from a May 2016 concert at the famed Colorado venue, where the Flaming Lips performed their 1999 LP, The Soft Bulletin in its entirety, with a 68-piece orchestra and 57-person choir conducted by Andre De Ridder. It's an ideal collaboration, pairing seamlessly with Lips to recreate the brilliantly weird, ambient album, acclaimed for its opulent symphonic flourishes.

The hyper-colour music video … directed by George Salisbury and Wayne Coyne … offers a hypnotic snapshot, capturing the wholly immersive experience of this epic live performance.

The Flaming Lips celebrate the 20th anniversary of their heartfelt masterstroke Soft Bulletin this year. Marking the occasion, The Soft Bulletin Recorded Live at Red Rocks (with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra), is out November 29th and available to pre-order here.
