Neil Young’s archives are a never-ending wonder of lost recordings and rarities. In recent years, a number of unreleased projects from his extensive vault have been brought to light, including 1975’s Homegrown and a number of live cuts, most recently, a lost live album and concert film from 1971 called Young Shakespeare (see here).
Now, the legendary musician has now offered fans an update on all the colossal list of future releases, explaining in a post on the Neil Young news site, Thrasher’s Wheat that the events of 2020 brought “the focus, a gift,” allowing him to significantly accelerate his release schedule.
According to the post, six “Official Bootleg” releases on the way, along with instalments 4-7 in Young’s Original Recording Series and several albums in hi-res audio and the third volume of Neil Young Archives. There are also two unreleased Crazy Horse albums on the way titled EARLY DAZE and Toast; a Crazy Horse live album from 2012 and 2013 Live Alchemy. There’s a live album and concert film from CSNY’s 1970-1971 shows at the Fillmore East; a Buffalo Springfield box set, plus a bounty of studio outtakes and bootlegs; and eight films.
