Neil Finn fans were treated to a very special set at Bourbon & Beyond festival over the weekend when Eddie Vedder joined the musician onstage for a stellar finale of 1980 Split Enz’ track, I Got You and 1986 Crowded House single, World Where You Live.
Finn was performing the Saturday night set with his son Liam, who included some of his own originals alongside his father’s classic hits. The duo were joined by Vedder and Pearl Jam touring guitarist Josh Klinghoffer for the last two songs of the night.
Vedder and Finn are no strangers. They have performed live together a number of times over the years and, in 2013, recorded a collaborative single for a Hunters & Collectors tribute album. Finn told the audience that Split Enz's’ I Got You was the first song they ever sang together at a show in Auckland, to which Vedder replied, “No, I sang this song with you when I was 13 years old. You were on the vinyl and I was playing it loud on my stereo. It was way before we played it live.”
