Elton John Picks QLD Duo Busby Marou To Open Forthcoming Australian Once In A Lifetime Stadium Concerts

Who out there is going to go see Elton John’s Once In A Lifetime stadium concerts in Mackay, Wollongong and Cairns this September?

You’re in for a treat; and not just because of Elton. His just-announced guests on the tour are the Qld duo of Rockhampton boy Thomas Busby and Torres Strait Islander Jeremy Marou, known together as Busby Marou, and if you haven’t heard them yet we reckon you’re gonna love them.

The duo, whose third album Postcards From The Shellhouse, debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in February and spawned a same-name sell-out tour across the country, play a richly harmonious brand of breezy and rootsy rock-pop, highlighted by great songs, great singing and Jeremy’s superb guitar playing. They’ve been building since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2011; indeed before that the boys were the only unsigned act to be picked to contribute to the Tim & Neil Finn tribute album He Will Have His Way, to which they contributed a beautiful version of Neil’s “Better Be Home Soon”.

Sir Elton picked Busby Marou for these shows himself. It’s no surprise, given the quality of their music. Perhaps Elton can ever hear a bit of his breezy old “Your Song”-self days in them. For more details of where and when Busby Marou will be guesting, have a look here.
