Gorillaz have announced the details of a new documentary called Reject False Icons. The film, which focuses on life in the studio with the band and their collaborators, will be screening in select cinemas around the country on Monday, 16th December for one night only.

Reject False Icons is directed by Denholm Hewlett, the son of founding Gorillaz member Jamie Hewlett, who “followed the band’s every move for three years” to capture the making of their last two critically acclaimed albums – 2017’s Humanz and 2018’s The Now Now – along with the ambitious world tour of the 'virtual band'.

The 30-second teaser gives us a glimpse of Blur frontman, Damon Albarn and his collaborators in the studio and on stages around the world performing as the animated band.

“The result is the first ever all-access immersive journey into the world of Gorillaz and its extended family – featuring never-seen footage, where the virtual meets the real,” reads a statement about the film.

Tickets for Reject False Icons will go on sale next week (November 27). You can check which cinemas are screening the film and purchase tickets here.
