Bluesfest 2020 might just be shaping up to be one of the greatest music festivals this country’s ever seen! Just when you thought the incredible lineup couldn’t possibly get any better, they’ve hit us with the massive announcement that, not only is 90s rock icon, Alanis Morissette joining the bill, she will also be celebrating the 25th anniversary of her seminal, 1995 album Jagged Little Pill by performing the entire album from start to finish!
Last year, Morissette almost broke the Internet when she announced that she would be celebrating 25 years of the career-defining, smash hit album on a monster run of US dates with fellow alt-rock royals Garbage and Liz Phair which kicks off in June this year.
Now, our patience has more than paid off! Not only did Alanis not forget her Aussie fans, but she will also be bringing us the anniversary set first, a whole two months earlier, when she joins Bluesfest’s massive list of performers that so far includes Patti Smith, Crowded House, Dave Matthews Band, Lenny Kravitz and so, so, so many more.

When Jagged Little Pill was first released in 1995, it quickly became a runaway success when LA’s famed KROQ-FM picked up the album’s scathing first single, "You Oughta Know" – a song that commanded instant attention for its explicit and sharp-witted lyrics; factors that also led the accompanying music video hitting heavy rotation on MTV. The album sold more than 33 million copies around the world and ranks as one of the best-selling albums of all time. “Ironic” was certified Gold in Australia and “You Oughta Know” went one better, achieving ARIA platinum certification.
Of the additions, festival director Peter Noble OAM said: “at a time when we’ve seen fire and now we are seeing rain in regional Australia, we at Bluesfest are thrilled to announce our next amazing artists in what is fast becoming a classic bill for us.”
