Earlier this week, the ever-busy Dave Grohl and producer/multi-instrumentalist Greg Kurstin, kicked off their annual celebration of Hanukkah – which sees them sharing covers of songs by Jewish artists over the eight days – with a very avant-garde reimagining of Lisa Loeb’s Stay (see more below).

For the second instalment of their Hanukkah Sessions, the pair switched things up with a very faithful, full-tilt rendition of Ramones’ seminal punk hit, Blitzkrieg Bob.

They shared the video on YouTube with the caption, “Once upon a time, two nice Jewish boys from Queens named Jeffery Hyman and Thomas Erdelyi changed the world forever with their music….. as Joey and Tommy Ramone! GABBAI GABBAI HEY! Ladies and gentlemen….It’s the Ramones!” Watch below.

Grohl and Kurstin nearly broke the internet with their hardcore cover of Lisa Loeb’s 1994 sugary pop hit Stay, sounding like it had been arranged by System of a Down, performed by Grohl in a very authentic 90s floral dress. Check it out here.

Blitzkrieg Bop was released as the Ramones’ debut single in 1976. Coming straight out of the gate with a rallying call to arms – “Hey! Ho! Let's go!" – that would make them one of the most iconic punk bands of all time.
