Gorillaz Announce New Radio Show, Song Machine Radio

Gorillaz have announced a new Apple Music radio show called Song Machine Radio ahead of this week’s release of their Song Machine Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez album on Friday (Oct 23rd). The four-part series will feature one-hour episodes, each hosted by the virtual band members – 2D, Murdoc, Noodle, and Russel.

 

The series will feature “personalized music selections, special guests, non-music discussions, and segments with Gorillaz co-founders Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. In addition to providing firsthand insight into the album, the group will also use Song Machine to celebrate and reflect on their 20-year history.”

The radio show shares its title with Gorillaz upcoming full-length release this week, Song Machine: Season One, which features a host of musical collaborators across generations and genres, including the likes of Elton John, the Cure’s Robert Smith and Joy Division/New Order bassist, Peter Hook

The animated band will give songs from the record their live debut in December this year during a virtual concert, Song Machine Live. The set, bringing together Gorillaz’s resident animator Jamie Hewlett’s visuals, and live music performed by Damon Albarn (aka frontman 2D).
