The animated band, led by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, debuted their collaborative efforts on 26th March 2001. Gorillaz introduced their alter-personas to the world with some of their most iconic tracks to date, including “Clint Eastwood” and “19-2000.” The album hit No.3 on UK charts and is now certified platinum in their native country, selling close to a million copies over the past two decades.

In celebration of two glorious decades of Gorillaz, the band have announced a treasure trove of exciting things to come in 2021, including a reissue of the album arriving later in the year as the first in a series of re-releases from their stellar catalogue.

Gorillaz has once again partnered with collectables brand Superplastic for some limited-edition vinyl toys and NFT digital art collectibles, featuring each member of the band: 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel. This follows the launch of Gorillaz toy figurines last year. Check them out, here.

2021 will also see the arrival of Gorillaz’ G Foot Collection clothing line, relaunched to celebrate 20 years of the band’s unique style with a brand new collection coming up during the year.

And later this year, the band will release the first in a series of highly-anticipated album reissues, beginning with 2001's Gorillaz –the studio album that started it all.

According to the band: “The attic of Kong Studios is a virtual treasure trove of Gorillaz ephemera, a giant biscuit tin of early ideas, deep-dive musical moments, demos, early drawings and never-before-seen-or-heard Gorillaz memories. Murdoc Niccals, inspired by his hero Marie Kondo, will tackle that attic with a promise to spark joy in the hearts of fans around the world with a very special physical release featuring an abundance of declassified gems. More details coming soon.”

Twenty years of Gorillaz promises and an "eye-wateringly exciting" list of collaborators, including Elton John, André 3000, Beck, Carly Simon, David Attenborough, Grace Jones, Graham Coxon, Lou Reed, Mavis Staples, Neneh Cherry, Noel Gallagher, Peter Hook, and many, many more.

Stay tuned for more details, coming soon!
