Pearl Jam frontman, Eddie Vedder has formed a high-profile covers band for an impromptu show at Ohana Festival in California over the weekend.
Kings of Leon were originally slated to headline the evening but sadly had to cancel because of the death of their mother, Betty Ann.
With Pearl Jam scheduled to appear the following night, Vedder nominated to fill in last minute, forming an all-stars covers band with the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith and ex-Chili’s/current Pearl Jam touring guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, among others.
Vedder and co. ran through a setlist of classics that included Prince’s Purple Rain, Pretenders’ Precious and R.E.M.’s Drive, as well as an early Kings of Leon hit, Molly’s Chambers in tribute to the band. Check out the footage below.

Eddie Vedder | Precious [Pretenders cover]
Last week, Pretenders’ announced the upcoming reissue of their first two albums, in deluxe editions that have been personally curated by bandleader Chrissie Hynde.
Pretenders (Deluxe Edition) and Pretenders II (Deluxe Edition) will be available as a 3CD set, or on limited-edition coloured red and white vinyl respectively. Both feature 2018 remastered audio by the album’s original producer, Chris Thomas, plus a special, hand-numbered Pretenders print, based upon the Brass In Pocket single artwork, limited to 500 copies worldwide.
